Labels
Labels are short tags you add to pages, such as how-to, meeting-notes or release. Spaces group pages by who they are for; labels group them by what they are, across every space. Label every how-to guide how-to, and one click finds them all, whichever space they are in.
Adding a label
Step 1: Choose + Add label
It is under the page’s title, after any labels the page already has.
Step 2: Type the label, then Add
Type it and choose Add, or press Enter.

A label can be up to 50 characters of lower-case letters, digits, dots, dashes and underscores, starting with a letter or a digit. Spaces are not allowed, so use a dash: meeting-notes. Capitals are turned into lower case, so Release and release are the same label.
To take a label off a page, choose the × beside it. Adding and removing labels needs edit rights on the page.
Finding pages by label
Choose a label on any page to list every page that has it, with the key of the space each is in.
All labels, at the top of that list, shows every label in use and how many pages have it, with a box to filter them. Its address is
/labels, so you can bookmark it.
Both only count and list pages you can see.
Lists of labeled pages on a page
To keep a list of labeled pages on a page, such as every page labeled meeting-notes on a “Meeting notes” page, use the Content by label element; it stays up to date by itself. Labels list shows the labels in use. See Live content.
Good practice
Agree on a few labels and write them down, so everyone uses
how-torather than a mix ofhowto,how-toandguide.Label what a page is, not what is in it: search already finds the words on a page.
