The space home and watching

Every space has a home: the page you land on when you open the space without choosing a page in it. It shows the space’s name and description, and it is where you choose to be told about everything that happens in the space.

The home page

• The name and description at the top. Change them in Space settings, on the Details tab.

• A new space has no pages yet, and says so, with a Create the first one link.

• On a phone, the home page also lists the space’s pages, because a phone has no sidebar to show them in.

To get back to the home page from anywhere in the space, choose the space’s name at the start of the breadcrumb above the page.

Watching a space

Watching a space is for when you want to keep up with it without checking it every day: a team lead following the team’s space, say, or someone who looks after a handbook and wants to see every change to it.

While you watch a space, you are told about:

• every new page in it,

• every update to a page in it, and

• every new comment on a page in it.

The news arrives in the bell at the top of Tesria, and by email too if you have turned that on (see Email notifications). You are never told about your own changes, and never about a page you cannot see.

Step 1: Open the space’s home

Choose the space on the Spaces page, or its name at the start of the breadcrumb.

Step 2: Choose Watch this space

The button is at the top right, beside the space’s name.

The button then reads Watching. Choose it again to stop.
