Trash

Deleting a page does not destroy it straight away. It goes to the space’s trash, with every page under it, and waits there until someone restores it or deletes it for good. So a page deleted by mistake can be brought back, history and all.

Deleting a page

On the page, open the ⋮ menu and choose Delete, then Move to the trash. Its sub-pages go with it. See Page actions for who may delete pages.

Finding the trash

Choose Space settings at the bottom of the space’s sidebar, then the Trash tab.

It lists the pages that were deleted, newest first, with when. A page deleted with its sub-pages is listed once, and stands for all of them. You only see pages you would be able to see if they had not been deleted.

Restoring a page

Restore puts the page back where it was, with its sub-pages, its history and its files. If the page it was under has gone, it comes back at the top of the space instead. Anyone who can edit the page can restore it.

Deleting a page for good

Delete permanently asks first, and then, if you have not entered your password in the last few minutes, asks for it again. It needs administrator access to the space, and the same right from your role as deleting the page did.

Nothing leaves the trash on its own: pages stay there until someone restores them or deletes them permanently. Deleting the whole space empties its trash too; see Archiving and deleting a space.
